Conversation club participation agreement

Edition 1 of 29 September 2026

1. Parties

Provider: a sole trader (autónomo) operating under the trade name Your Language Club Valencia: Andranik Danielian, NIE Y6246079Y — Spanish courses. Address for correspondence and venue of the sessions: Av. de l'Institut Obrer de València, 21, Quatre Carreres, 46013 València, Spain. Email: artes@ylc.es. Phone: +34 711 570 066. Hereinafter «YLC Valencia». Participant: an individual who has paid for a conversation club session on ylcvalencia.es and accepted the terms of this agreement. If the Participant is under 18, the agreement is concluded on their behalf by a legal representative, who accepts the terms and assumes the payment obligations.

2. Subject of the agreement

YLC Valencia runs a conversation club session: live speaking practice in Spanish in a group, led by a teacher of the school. A session lasts 60 minutes and takes place on the school premises. A group holds no more than seven participants. The date, time and level of the session are chosen by the Participant at payment and stated in the payment form and in the confirmation email. The club is speaking practice, not a course: there is no syllabus, homework, assessment or certificate. The agreement is concluded once the chosen session has been paid for.

3. Price and payment

The price of one session is shown on the website and in the payment form before the order is confirmed. Payment is made in advance, by bank card through the Stripe payment service. Language teaching services are exempt from VAT under art. 20.Uno.9º of Law 37/1992. The invoice (factura) is sent to the Participant's email after payment. There is no subscription and no automatic charges: each session is paid for separately. Students with a current course at YLC Valencia attend the club free of charge; neither the payment nor this agreement applies to them.

4. Seat at the session

The seat is reserved for the Participant at the moment of payment. While payment is not completed, the seat is held for 15 minutes from the start of the process. After that it is released. Once all seven seats are taken, sign-up for that session closes. The Participant may choose another date.

5. Cancellation, rescheduling and no-show

The Participant may cancel by giving notice at least 24 hours before the session starts. The payment is then moved to another club session within 3 months. If notice arrives later than 24 hours before the start, or the Participant does not turn up, the session counts as delivered and the payment is not moved. The reason is that the seat was reserved and could not be offered to anyone else. If YLC Valencia cancels the session (public holiday, teacher's illness, too few participants), the Participant chooses between moving the payment to another date or a refund by the same payment method within 14 days.

6. Right of withdrawal

The Participant may withdraw from the agreement within 14 calendar days of payment, without giving reasons and without penalty — art. 102 TRLGDCU (Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007). The notice is sent to artes@ylc.es, in free form or using the model attached to this agreement. The money is refunded by the same payment method within 14 days of receipt of the notice (art. 107.1). If, at the Participant's request, the session took place before that period expired, on withdrawal they pay for the session actually delivered — art. 108.4. The right of withdrawal is lost once the service has been fully performed, provided the Participant was informed of this (art. 103.a). If the information on the right of withdrawal was not provided, the period is extended to 12 months (art. 105.1).

7. Personal data

The Participant's data is processed to perform this agreement, issue the invoice and communicate about the session. Legal basis: art. 6.1.b of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (performance of a contract) and art. 6.1.c (accounting obligation). Details are set out in the Privacy Policy published on the website: categories of data, retention periods, recipients and how to exercise the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Requests go to artes@ylc.es; a complaint may also be filed with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).

8. Liability and dispute resolution

YLC Valencia is liable for running the session to the extent set out in the TRLGDCU. The school is not liable for learning outcomes: the club provides speaking practice, not a guarantee of level. The parties settle disagreements by negotiation. Failing that, they submit to the courts of the consumer's place of residence — art. 90.2 TRLGDCU. Applicable law: Spanish. Complaint forms (hojas de reclamaciones) are available at the school. A dispute may be referred to the Junta Arbitral de Consumo or to the EU online dispute resolution platform.

9. Final provisions

The agreement is concluded electronically: ticking the boxes on the website and confirming the email address is equivalent to a handwritten signature — arts. 3.10 and 25.1 of Regulation (EU) 910/2014 and art. 326.3 of Law 1/2000 on Civil Procedure. The signed copy in PDF is sent to the Participant's email immediately after payment and archived by YLC Valencia. This agreement does not apply to group classes or one-to-one lessons: those have contracts of their own.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does one level take?
On average 3–4 months per level with 2–3 group classes a week. The exact pace depends on your starting point and consistency — at the free trial we assess your level and give a realistic plan.
What level can I start from?
Any — from zero (A0/A1) to advanced. Groups are formed by level (A1–B2), with DELE prep available. Not sure? We measure your level for free at the trial.
What class formats are there?
In-school groups (up to 10), online mini-groups (up to 5), one-to-one in person and online, summer intensive. Morning, afternoon and evening to fit your schedule.
How many students per group?
Offline groups up to 10, online mini-groups up to 5. Small by design: everyone gets time to speak, not just listen to a crowd of 20+.
Is there a free trial class?
Yes. The first class is free — we get to know you and match the ideal group by level, schedule and vibe. Group not a fit? We switch you free.
How much does it cost?
Depends on the format: groups, online, one-to-one, intensive, packs. Up-to-date prices on the «Prices» page. Discounts for course payment, family and referrals.
How can I pay?
Flexible: card, Stripe, bank transfer, crypto. We find a convenient method — including for people who just relocated and have no local account yet.
What if I travel for a while?
We freeze your course — what you paid doesn’t expire. You come back and continue from the same point. Part of our service.
What if I miss a class?
It isn’t lost: a make-up or joining another group at the same level. Can’t come in person? Join your class online.
Are teachers native speakers?
Bilingual teachers with 3+ years of experience and regular in-house methodology training. Grammar is explained in a language you understand; Spanish share grows with your level.
What’s your methodology?
A communicative approach with a clear grammar structure: you speak from day one, grammar is reinforced in speech, topics from real life. Minimal drills, maximum practice.
Do you prepare for DELE?
Yes, DELE prep (A1–B2) with a mock exam. We’re not affiliated with exam centres and don’t issue official certificates, but we prepare you to pass.
Do you help with visa or housing?
No. We’re a language school: no visa paperwork or accommodation. The focus is on you living and speaking Spanish freely in Valencia.
Where is the school?
Valencia, Av. de l'Institut Obrer de València, 21 — Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias area. Map, directions and hours at the bottom of the page.
How do I sign up?
Fastest: the «Free trial» button or messenger (we reply within 1 business day). You can also take the short quiz and we’ll suggest the ideal course.
