Valencia holidays and breaks
2026—2027

Spain sets its public holidays at three levels, and every city ends up with a different calendar. A year holds at most fourteen paid holidays: twelve come from the state and the autonomous community, and the town hall adds two more. So Valencia can be closed on a day when Madrid is at work.

National

Set by the Spanish government and observed across the country: New Year, Good Friday, Christmas and other dates. An autonomous community may swap some of them for its own.

Regional

Added by the Generalitat for the whole Valencian Community. The main one is 9 October, Day of the Valencian Community.

Local

Two days a year are picked by each town hall, and the next town over picks different ones. In Valencia they usually fall around Fallas — 19 March, San José, for example.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When do groups start?
Main intakes are September and January, with autumn the busiest. A trial lesson can be done any time.
Can I join a group that already started?
Often yes: if your level fits the current group, you can join mid-way. We decide after the trial lesson.
How long does one level take?
On average 3–4 months with 2–3 lessons a week; the exact time depends on your base and regularity.
What if I miss the intake?
Book a trial — we find the nearest suitable group or an alternative format (mini-group/individual) until a new one starts.
Are there summer classes?
Yes, there is a summer intensive — an accelerated format, handy if you need to raise your level fast.
What holidays does the school take?
The school pauses on the main local holidays; exact dates for your course are confirmed when you book.
Can I pause the course?
Yes. If you travel, the course is paused — paid lessons do not expire and you continue from the same point.
What about missed classes?
They are compensated: a make-up, joining another group of the same level, or connecting online to your class.
Is semester enrolment planned?
Yes, a move to semester enrolment is planned. For now, use the September and January intakes as reference.
When is best to start from scratch?
Beginner groups start best in September and January, but with a suitable group a start is possible at other times too.
When is the trial lesson?
The trial lesson can be done almost any time; it is not tied to intake dates.
How many lessons per week?
Usually 2–3 lessons a week in a group; for individual and intensive the schedule is set separately.
Can I start mid-month?
Yes, if there is a level-appropriate group or an individual format; the start need not match the start of the month.
How do I learn the next start dates?
Message us on Telegram or WhatsApp — we send current dates for your level and format.
What if I have not relocated yet?
We plan the start for your arrival; before that you can begin online so you do not lose time.
