Live Spanish — beyond the classroom
A language you only hear in class stays a textbook language. So the school has a second half: practice in real situations around Valencia, in the streets, at the markets and at the festivals. A conversation club twice a week, Tuesday for A2–B1 and Thursday for B1–B2, trips around the city and beyond it, cooking workshops, language exchange evenings with locals, Spanish films with a discussion afterwards. Some meetups are free for every student, some come at a separate charge. It is the shortest road to speaking and to feeling at home in the city.
What is coming up?
Three things go into this feed. Public holidays in Spain and Valencia, when the school is closed and there are no classes: the dates come from the school calendar and include the city days that the town hall approves afresh each year. Conversation club meetings at 11:15: Tuesday for levels A2–B1, Thursday for B1–B2, up to seven people per group, free for school students and 15 € for anyone else. And whatever the school puts on itself: trips, film nights, parties. The nearest sits on top, the rest follow by date.

What we do
Six strands, and all of them are about Valencia rather than a textbook. Food and drink: paella, tapas, horchata, wine tastings and a Mercado Central tour with a teacher. Sea and sports: sailing, kitesurfing, SUP, beach volleyball and bike rides around the city. Culture: museums and the City of Arts, flamenco, salsa, Spanish cinema and theatre. Trips around Spain: Albufera, Peñíscola, Altea and sometimes Madrid and Barcelona. Seasonal festivals: Las Fallas in March, San Juan in June, La Tomatina in August. And Tándem, language exchange evenings with locals at a bar in El Cabanyal.
Free & paid
Some activities are free for every student of the school: Walk & Learn strolls around the city, Tándem nights, Spanish film screenings, games and quizzes. Others come at a separate charge: trips to Madrid and Barcelona, the paella course, the wine tasting and the sailing workshop. The price of each paid meetup is given when you sign up. You can sign up with the school administrator or by message, and the nearest dates are in the list at the top of the page.

School life
