Electronic form of the contract and signature
YLC Valencia documents are signed on the website: you tick the consent boxes and press the payment button. This page explains why that signature is valid, what we record at the moment of signing and how you can check it.
What counts as your signature
Your signature is the set of actions you take on the payment page: the consent boxes you tick, the name, surname and email address you enter, and pressing the payment button.
This is a simple electronic signature within the meaning of Article 3.10 of Regulation (EU) 910/2014 (eIDAS).
Why it is valid
Article 25.1 of Regulation (EU) 910/2014: an electronic signature shall not be denied legal effect or admissibility as evidence in legal proceedings solely on the grounds that it is in electronic form or does not meet the requirements for qualified electronic signatures.
Articles 23 and 24 of Law 34/2002 on information society services recognise contracts concluded electronically as valid and accept electronic records as documentary evidence.
By signing, both you and the school accept this form as equivalent to a signature on paper.
What we record when you sign
• the date and time of signing, with the time zone;
• the IP address the documents were signed from;
• device and browser details;
• your name, surname and email address;
• the list of boxes you ticked and the time of each;
• the exact version of every signed document and its checksum;
• the payment reference.
A checksum is a short string calculated from the text of a document. Change a single character and the string changes completely. That is how we can show you signed that particular version and not one rewritten later.
What you receive
Right after payment you receive a PDF by email with all signed documents in three languages: Spanish, English and Russian.
The PDF shows the school's signature, your name and surname, your email address, the date and time of signing, the IP address and the checksums of the documents.
A copy is always available in your personal area under «Documents», where you can also ask for the email to be sent again.
If you do not recognise the signature
Write to artes@ylc.es. The school will provide the stored signing data: time, IP address, document versions and their checksums.
Under Article 326.3 of Civil Procedure Law 1/2000, if the authenticity of an electronic document is challenged, the party relying on it — the school — must prove it.
Storage and security
Signing data is processed as personal data: the legal basis is performance of the contract and defence of the parties' rights. Retention: six years from the end of the contract, in line with the rest of the accounting and contractual records.
